- How and when did your musical career began?
-In 2052 B.S. my musical career started. It was
because of school friends. I used to sing in
school. Later I was involved in a local band
namely "Steps" and I was the vocalist of that
band.
|
- How is your parents' support?
-At beginning I couldn't get full support but now
they are very positive and supportive. I was
supposed to become a doctor, but time changed me
and now I am in this field.
|
- What is the difficult thing in being an
artist or staying as an artist?
-Yes it's quite difficult. But all people are
humans so we should be down to earth and take
surroundings easily.
|
- Are you
thinking of making this as a career?
-Yes music is my career, but I still have long
way to go.
|
- Any effect on
music due to the situation of the country?
-Definitely, not only music every field is
effected but we should not panic. Everything
will be fine. We all got to do something and
make situation better.
|
- There are so
many artists/bands coming out these days. How do
you plan to be different?
-Well I am into experimental music as you can
hear my songs. Whatever I create I do it from my
soul.
|
- Do you
compose your own music? If so, then what is the
process? Do you first come up with music or
lyrics?
-Most of the songs I compose by self. Mostly I
first come up with music (tune) then I fill up
the lyrics sometimes simultaneously and finally
go to studios for recording.
|
- What is a
process for you to sing a song? For example if
someone composes a song, and presents to
you-then how do you take that song and sing? How
do you accept songs?
-Main thing is to go in the depth of the music.
First I understand the lyrics then see the music
and arrangement and sing accordingly in own
style.
|
- You know
media has been a big part these days. How is
media helping? Is it true that if you have money
then you will be popular?
-Obviously yes, all media FM's, Paper, TV,
websites all are supporting me from everywhere.
No it's not true. Music is an art & it is
related to soul. Music is not materialistic.
|
- Recording
music and making music videos comes with cost.
How do you manage to do all that, since you are
new into the industry?
-For it I should say I am very lucky. My all
recording and most music video budgets are
managed by my music company "SAV". I had an
audition with SAV and they liked my songs in new
pattern and they selected to produce my album
and managed all my costs. Only one video it's
financed by M.E.
|
- Your album?
Recent album Coma...what's the reason behind
that name?
-My first solo album was "Udweg" released back in
2058 B.S. It was marketed by Moonlight records.
But at the same time company collapsed and
couldn't market well. So I am planning to
re-record those songs and bring in market.
My second solo album "COMA". Coma means state of
unconsciousness. Whenever whatever in each and
every condition either we are conscious or
unconscious we like music and we are always
eager to become close to the music ... I guess.
|
- Your
favorite song in that album?? And how hard was
it to come up with that CD?
-I like "Yestai Rahecha. Ummm. To come up with
that album?? It was not too hard because I had
my company as sponsor but still we all worked
hard to create that album. It took six months in
studio and another six months to come in the
market.
|
- You know
there are many music recording studios these
days. And when you go to such studios and record
songs, do you get what you want?
-Sometimes we get and sometimes we don't. Some
studios have Technical problems and there is
difference in equipments and even in programming
style. But still my favourite studio is BMI.
|
- How have
artists contributed to helping out given the
difficult situation of our country? If yes then,
what have they been into? Both in the past and
present times. May be through songs of unity and
common understanding? Or even reaching out to
the villages?
-Yes artists have been contributing to help the
difficult situation of the nation by doing live
shows, peace concerts. Artists have also been
providing ideas through music. Music acts as a
healer. But still due to current situation of
the country we have not been able to go to
remote villages.
|
- How has the
influence of western influence in Nepali musical
scene? What do you think about it?
-Music can't be categorized. We should categorize
the music as one because i8ts an art after all.
But we should save culture in the mean time and
bound the music of all countries together.
|
- What's your
stand on typical Nepali folk, jhaure and songs
that tend to represent Nepali customs, values
and traditions?

I am working with Daniel Karthak dai for his
collection album. And I too am doing Irish/
Nepali music with Dhime Baja in different
pattern.
