Awards given to four mountaineers
Mingma Temba Sherpa, Namgyal Sherpa, Tarke Sherpa, and Mingma Gyalchhe
Sherpa) who released an album "Hiun" (Snow) on top of Everest.
Awards were also given to the artists (Jagdish Samal, Swaroop Raj
Acharya,Ram Chandra Kafle, Adrian Pradhan, Basanta Shrestha, Rajesh
Payal Rai, and Anju Panta) who sang in the album.
Subash Niraula, managing director of Tourism board was the chief guest
for the event. Several guests were present including secretary of
communication (Mr. Shankar Koirala), Lyricist Dinesh Adhikari, Media
personnel like Saroj Kc, Hem Subedi.
Lyricist/musician, Ram Krishna Tripathi donated Nrs 1 lakh to High Altitude Mountain Workers Welfare Association for the betterment of the people in Hilly region.
