"Sunsilk Bridal Makeup and Hair Do Competition" in association with Beautician Professional Association of Nepal is going to be held on July 5th at Radisson Hotel, Kathmandu.  This particular event is one of its kind and brings with it thematic division of bridal display where the Hilly, Mountainous and Terai cultures come to the forefront showcasing their rich culture in the form of bride and their bridal makeup and hair do, costumes jewelry. The regional cultural identification and its richness are made relevant via this event in their own special way.

"Bridal make up and hair do competition" is being held for the third season in the country and had also gained immense popularity in its first and the second season. Over 300 beauticians from all over Nepal will participate in this competition of bridal attire, make up and hair do. The selected few will eventually bring the cultural aspect of both the rural and urban Nepal of these three regions together and present Nepal and our tradition in its true rich form to the forefront.

Many professional beauticians take part in this event and bring out their best in the form of display of the bride in the finals. This will be a platform for many beauticians, models and designers to get together in this platform and exhibit their works in the most different yet elegant manner to the runway.  

All the participants have to go through various auditions to reach to the final.  Five judges help select the participants.  Judges include Ms Dolly Singh (Beauty expert), Nisha Sharma (Theater artist ), Rachana Singh (Journalist),  Rachana Gurung Sharma (Choreographer), Sugarika KC (Former Miss Nepal).

The event is managed by WIZ International in association with de Runway. 

Schedule

• Jestha 28, 2069( June 10, 2012) -- Make up and Hairdo classes for the participants from Kathmandu and Lalitpur districts. There will be about 150 participants at Siam building hall with first group starting at 10:30 am till 12.30 pm and second group from 1:30 pm till 3:30 pm.

• Jestha 29, 2069 ( June 11, 2012) -- Make up and Hairdo classes for the participants from Kathmandu and Lalitpur districts.  There will be about 100 participants at Siam building hall from 10 AM until 12:.00 pm.

• Jestha 30, 2069 (June 12, 2012) -- Make up and Hairdo classes for the participants from Bhaktapur district.  There will be about 80 participants.

• Jestha 31, 2069 (June 13, 2012) -- Make up and Hairdo classes for the participants from Kavrepaslanchok district.   There will be about 75 participants.

• Ashad 4, 2069 (June 18, 2012) -- Make up and Hairdo classes for the participants from other districts in the morning and grooming class for all the participants by de Runaway in the afternoon at Kupondol banquet at Kupondol.

• Ashad 5 & 6 2069 (June 19 & 20, 2012) – Audition where the final 36 participants will be selected at Kupondol banquet at Kupondol.

• Ashad 21, 2069 (July 5, 2012) -- Final at Hotel Radisson, Lazimpat
