Mrs. Kamala Shrestha given an award...July 14th, 2010

Nepal's Ministry of Industry awarded senior-most beautician, Mrs Kamala Shrestha on July 14th, 2010 for her contribution to the country's development in the form of advancing women's occupational achievements.  Mrs Shrestha is a founder principal of Siam Institute of Hair Design and Beauty Care.  She is also the President of "Beautician Professional Association of Nepal."

 

34th Certificate Distribution Ceremony...Feb 6th, 2010

34th Certification Distribution Ceremony of Siam Institute of Hair design and Beauty Care was held on Feb 6th.  Eighty successful students were awarded the certificate of Diploma amidst a glittering gathering at Hotel Annapurna.  Honorable Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Mr. Sarad Singh Bhandari graced the occasion.  Other important personalities including actress Deepa Shreei Niroula, Bandana Rana, (President of Sathi organization), and Mr. Ganesh Rashik (Director General of Department of Culture) were present.   Rachana Singh took the stage as MC.
All the speakers lauded the continued effort and struggle made by the founder principal Mrs. Kamala Shrestha in inculcating the women in self-reliance and upliftment of economic status of the womanhood by imparting the training.  She is depicted as the role model for other women in generating employment and making the beauty profession as a dignified and highly respected profession in Nepal.
The ceremony started at around 1:30 pm and ended at about 4 pm with tea/snacks and photo session.

ANA Fashion Extravaganza 2009 is a creative platform for aspiring newcomers to showcase their modeling aptitude. The selected models will walk the ramp during ANA convention 2009 in San Francisco, CA and dazzle the audience in the glory of outfits by a Nepali designer. East shall meet the West during this gala evening with “Fusion” as the theme for the show.

An eminent panel of Online Judges will decide fate of the ANA Model Hunt 2009. Short-listed candidates will be called for phone auditions.

Lakme Bridal Makeup competition results...June 21st ,2008

  • Lakme Bridal and Makeup Competition in association with Saundarya Kala Byawasayi Sangh was successfully held at Soaltee Crown Plaza in Kathmandu, Nepal on June 21st, 2008.  The event was first of its kind where there were 30 beauticians selected from 150 contestants from all over Nepal.  Beauticians were then divided into five groups (Himalaya/Sherpa, Aryan/Brhaman/Chettri, Newar, Terai/Madeshi, and Indigenous).  Judges were Prajani Rana, Sneh Rana, and Srijana Singh Yonzan.  Popular artists like Nima Rumba and Mingma Sherpa also entertained the crowd.  This event was led by Mrs. Kamala Shrestha, President of Saundarya Kala Byawasayi Sangh.  Event was sponsored by Lakme.

Kamala Shrestha-Elected unanimously as President of Beautician Professional Association of Nepal...Dec 22nd

After long deliberation, Mrs Kamala Shrestha was declared as President of Beautician Professional Association of Nepal.  Election was held in convention hall, Shidartha Nagar, Bhairawa, Nepal on Dec 22nd and Dec 23rd, 2007.  Mrs Kamala Shrestha (founder -Siam Institute of Hair design and proprietor of beauty care/Siam Beauty Salon and Barber Shop) will serve the three years term.  It was the first General convention where participants from several districts attended.  Program was inaugurated by Honorable deputy speaker of the interim parliament, Mrs. Chitra Lekha Yadav.  Chandi Dhakal (President of Nepal Chambers of Commerce and Industry), was also among the guest along with other local dignitaries.

Mrs. Yadav promised to put the case of the beautician profession in the parliament for its due recognition by the government.  Mr. Chandi Dhakal also spoke that the beautician profession must be taken as the industry. 29th Certificate Distribution Ceremony...Sept 2nd

  • The 29th batch graduation is over. All together 94 students graduated. Some of the graduates have already left for USA, UK, Hongkong, Australia and other countries. Deputy speaker of the parliament was the chief guest who gave away the certificates and also the prizes for the top ten students Prizes were sponsored by "Genvera" and "smooth and silk" cosmetics agents in Nepal.

    The program was held at Hotel Annapurna, Durbarmarg that started at 11.30 am and concluded at 2 pm. The guest included Mr. Chabilal Gurung (the deputy director of skill testing board, CTEVT), Mrs. Rama Poudel (Vice president of the national trade union congress), Srijana Yonzon (popular media person).
    The program started with the lighting the panas, by the chief guest followed by the speech of Mrs. Kamala Shrestha, founder principal and President of Beauty profession association, Nepal. She dwelt about the institute, the achievement, future plan, struggle, and about the newly constituted association. She also informed about the Book to be launched. The book is first of its kind written in Nepali.

    The chief guest Mrs. Chitra Lekha Yadav highlighted about the book, the formation of the beauty association. She also praised Mrs. Kamala Shrestha and vowed to help her in every capacity. Vice president Mrs. Rama poudel and Mrs. Srijana Yonzon also spoke few words highlighting about Mrs. Shrestha' courage, her achievement and her struggle and said that the newew generation should learn from her.

27th Certificate Distribution Ceremony a success...

The 27th batch graduation ceremony is over. The students completed their course at Siam Institute of Hair Design and Beauty Care.  The ceremony that was held on August 5th, 2006 was chaired by Dr. Shankar Prasha Sharma, former vice chair man of the National planning commission. The event was attended by the Nepal's top film actress Gauri Malla, top critic comedian and agriculturist Mr. Murari Pd Gautam, the director of the National skill testing Board, CTEVT and other distinguished guests. All together, 108 students graduated and received the certificate of Diploma. Mrs. Sirjana pradhan was the first on the list, followed by Mrs. Kopila thapa and Pabita Bista. The top three students were awarded gifts and prizes that were sponsored by “Smooth and Silky.” There were three male students who completed the course successfully. Mr. Padam Ojha was the fifth on the list on best students. The speakers discussed Institute’s achievements and Mrs.Kamala’s struggles in her road to success. Among the speakers was current batch graduate Mrs. Nirmala Rai who is planning to leave for UK. She spoke about the school, her experiences, and the teaching methods in the Institute with Madam Kamala Shrestha's guiding sprit and other fleet of teaching staff.

After the program, tea and snacks were served for the participants
and the guests. The program stated at exactly at 11.10 am and concluded at 2.00 pm.

Seminar by Mrs Kamala Shrestha a grand suceess

The seminar sponsored by Ayur Herbals with Gyounne Cholo, a fashion house sponsoring for the model outfits was a grand success.  Everything went smoothly with superb management. Among the attendees were Mr. Roshan Karki (Assistant Minister of Local development), Miss Sugarika K.C (Miss Nepal 2005), Usha Khadgi (Miss Nepal 2000), and Mr. Dilvender Singh (Managing director/ president of Ayur herbal product).  Mr. Dilvender Singh gave a presentation on Ayur products.

There was a gathering of more than 600 beautician from and within Kathmandu valley and outside the valley where Mrs. Kamala Shrestha of Siam Beauty Saloon/Siam Institute (senior beautician) gave live demonstration of the facial, African hair style, Italian make up, special hair cut followed by question and answers.  The seminar concluded with a ramp show by little kids and the staff of Siam Beauty Saloon/Siam Institute.
Frequent tea/coffee breaks were served along with a lavish lunch. 

This is the first Seminar of this magnitude organized by a Nepalese Beautician with out inviting the beauty experts from other countries.
