A British YouTuber has unexpectedly gone viral after finding himself in the middle of the massive Gen Z protests rocking Nepal. Harry, best known for his channel We Hate The Cold, was passing through Kathmandu on his motorbike journey from Thailand to the UK when chaos erupted outside Nepal’s Parliament.

With just his camera in hand, Harry captured rare ground-level footage of the unrest—flames rising from the Parliament building, smashed vehicles, looters running off with equipment, and police firing tear gas as crowds clashed. His video quickly blew up, crossing more than 123million views in just two days, turning him into an “accidental reporter.”
Harry admitted he never planned to cover political turmoil. “I just happened to be there with my camera,” he said, adding that a sudden curfew left him stuck in Kathmandu. While many viewers praised his raw coverage, others criticized the risks he took filming so close to the action. Harry responded lightly: “I’m not a journalist. I’m just a stupid tourist who might have a little bit of courage.”
His unexpected viral moment has brought global attention to Nepal’s protests, while his motorbike adventure remains on hold until he can safely continue his journey.
