Hundreds of people had gathered in Birgunj to welcome the Former King of Nepal, Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah. According to the report by ANI, “the supporters of former Nepal king have started a campaign called ‘Raja Lao, desh bachao’ (Bring King’s rule and save the nation). It aims to bring monarchy system back in Nepal, which now has an elected government headed by Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli.”

“A civil reception was also held for the King at Birgunj’s dry port of Agadi” reports ANI.  “He was also felicitated at the temple of Vindyavasini Mai and in rural areas of Gardaul. The Last King of Nepal, Gyanendra, was deposed in 2008. It brought an end to 240-year-old monarchy rule in the country.”
