22 year old Shrinkhala Khatiwada from Hetauda is Miss Nepal 2018

22 year old Shrinkhala Khatiwada of Heatuda was crowned as Miss Nepal 2018 on April 11th at Hotel Annapurna.  Hidden Treasures Ruslan FM 95.2 Miss Nepal 2018 was the 23rd edition of Miss Nepal beauty pageant, that had 25 contestents, the most ever for Miss Nepal pageant.

Miss Nepal World 2017, Nikita Chandak crowned contestant #25, Shrinkhala Khatiwada during the grand finale that was held at Hotel Annapurna.  She will now represent Nepal in Miss World 2018 in China.

Contestent #2 Ronali Amatya, Contestent # 8 Priya Sigdel and Contestant #10 Manita Devkota won the titles of Miss Nepal International, Miss Nepal Earth and Miss Nepal Universe respectively.  Priya Sigdel will represent Nepal in Miss Earth in the Philippines, while Manita Devkota will compete for Miss Universe 2018.

Each of the four winners won the cash prizes worth Rs 1,00,000.  Miss Nepal 2018, Khatiwada also won the title of Livon Miss Beautiful Hair and Yamaha Miss Fascino.  She was also awarded air ticket from Turkish Airlines and Thai Airways.

Final question was asked by the Chief Judge Mr. Govinda Parajuli to the top 7 contestants.  The question asked was “What three important tasks need to be performed to make prosperous Nepal and happy Nepali?.”

Shrinkhala Khatiwada answered “I believe that there’s lots to be done that needs to be done to make our country a developed one. However, if I have to think of or mention three major changes that can happen — the first I would say is we need to change the bureaucratic system of our country, that is so corrupted from the grass-root level to the top. The second thing that I would like to change is I would like to empower the youth. Youth having the majority of the population of our country, can bring big changes, if we try to. If youth bring their hands together to make our country prosperous, if we lead our country with vision, if we become job creators, if we become visionaries, and if we create employment opportunities by ourselves by trusting the government, that would be the second thing that I would do.  The third thing would definitely be we all Nepalese need to trust in ourselves.  It’s like a ripple effect  – a positivity. If one person makes a big change is like a drop in the ocean that spreads in thousands of minds/miles that brings the positivity in the nation. I believe that we all will join hands together and believe that we can bring big changes.  So yes, the first thing that I would do was to change the corrupt bureaucratic system.  The second would be empower the youth and the third would be believe in ourselves, because yes we can.  Thank you so much.”

Other panel of judges included Sunil Shakya, Bhawana Ghimire, Rabindra Mishra, Ashishma Nakarmi, Shreehar Rana, Pratistha Amatya Bista, Deepak Bista, Nikita Paudel, Ivana Manandhar and Raju Shah.
