The photo of little cute kid from Laprak was taken by Suzal Gurung while visiting his family during Dashain in 2016.  Laprak which happens to be his ancestral village was badly destroyed by massive earthquake in 2015.  Suzal told Nepalisite.com that due to the earthquake, local residents of Laprak were forced to make temporary houses in Gupsi which is about 2700 m above sea level and almost 3 hours from Laprak.  Suzal even searched for his family’s house during Dashain visit, but were not able to find it.  It was around the same time that he saw couple of kids playing some traditional games, and he took out his uncle’s camera (Nikon D5300 with 55-200mm lens) and captured the precious smile of the kid.  It was so precious that he even forgot that he was searching for his home.  He then started to take pictures of more kids in Laprak.

Suzal is currently studying BSW (1st year) at Novodit college in Kathmandu.  He has been learning photography from Photowalks Nepal for last 6 months.
